The Feu Follet are small Fae Folk that travel outside the Boonieyonder to explore the Louisiana swamp. They tend to appear simply as balls of light, bouncing through the air. In other cultures, these creatures are known as Will-O-Wisps.

Their goals are unclear—they might be exploring, hunting, gathering, or playing. When they happen upon mortals, the tend to retreat deeper into the swampland. More than once, these reclusive creatures, either knowingly or unknowingly, have led mortals to their demise in the dangerous bayou.
