Lady Charlotte has been the leader of the Matranga Crime Family and as well as the owner of the Gore Plantation for the last decade. Integrated together this organization has come be known as Sugar & Vice, or just SugarVice. They control many illicit businesses (and a few legitimate ones) in New Orleans and the surrounding towns. They also are collecting income from most adult and alcohol-related businesses in the downtown area. They are involved in prostitution, drug trafficking, gambling, pornography, loan-sharking, as well as extortion and racketeering.

Although many mortals are still “employed” by the family, their numbers are slowly dwindling. Their ranks have been supplemented with goblins, shapeshifters, sorcerers, and of course, the undead. Several people formerly in positions of influence have not been pleased with Lady Charlotte’s autocratic style. However, Lady Charlotte has a reputation of rewarding dissenters with what she calls a “Raise”—which is, of course, being murdered and reanimated.
